Is it a caravan? Is it a camper trailer? No it’s Jayco’s unique hybrid cross-over Expanda recreational vehicle.

The Expanda combines Jayco's pop-top manufacturing technology with that of its camper trailers with the Expanda's beds extending outside the superstructure to create amazingly spacious internal living areas.

The Expanda pop-top has a sleek fibreglass exterior aerodynamic high gloss finish and styling that belies the sheer size of the living area available, when the van is “opened up.”

There are a number of Expanda models and layouts available with one featuring a shower and a toilet, refer to floorplans below for more details.

Many family sedans and popular 4WDs can comfortably tow the Expanda.

As with all Jayco products, the Expanda series features the company’s acclaimed ‘out-of-sight’ engineering technologies including its galvanised, extra-strength Millennium chassis, ‘Tough-frame’ construction system, and its smooth ride leaf-spring suspension and electric brake systems.

For off-road travel Expandas are also available in Outback mode. And have the added strength and clearance to tackle most of Australia’s hundreds of thousands of kilometres of unsealed roads.

With Jayco’s Outback range you can now venture throughout Australia’s vast network of unsealed roads, freeing you up to explore some of the nation’s most incredible hideaways.

Jayco’s Outback range has the added strength and clearance you’ll need for rugged conditions, but there are limits! Some bush tracks are barely suitable for a 4WD, let alone an Expanda!

One thing’s for sure: when you reach your destination, you’ll really appreciate the home comforts inside your Jayco Outback Expanda!

When you are driving ‘off road’ and in unfamiliar territory, always take precautions such as driving slower and with extra care … as the most experienced 4-wheel drivers say: “it’s best to use your Expanda as a base station and head into rougher terrain without anything under tow”.

MILLENNIUM CHASSIS
Independent testers describe it as the clever chassis …

JAYCO TOUGH FRAME
› Latest revolution in RV construction.
› 19mm x 19mm tubular aluminium outer frame.
› 4 vacuum-bonded layers comprising fibreglass, ply and polystyrene foam.
› Superior insulation and dent resistant.
› Incorporates galvanized plating to support the internal furniture fittings.
› Outer fibreglass skin is 150% thicker than standard aluminium with high gloss gel-coat finish.

RELIABLE POWER
The Setec power converter is Australian-designed and constructed for our sometimes
inconsistent supply of power in remote areas. This built-in fused power converter provides
a safe 12v supply from 240v mains. Produced especially for Jayco, the Setec system
delivers generous lighting on either 240v or 12v supply.

When only 12v power is available, the unit is self-sensing and no switching is required.
A valuable additional feature of the unit is its built-in trickle charger (13.5v output) to cater
for an auxiliary battery.
